Flax Brownies -A Yummy Chewy Brownie Recipe ~ Cake Brownies!
Melt in a Saucepan:
Remove from heat, and stir in sugar:
- 1 cup Sugar (We like less sugar in our recipes, so we use 2/3 cup)
Beat for 10 to 15 minutes to get the sugar halfway dissolved.
Add in Eggs:
Beat in the eggs for ~10 to 15 minutes or till you have a creamy mixture.
Add Vanilla:
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix Together Dry Ingredients:
Mix Dry Ingredients with Liquid Ingredients
-only stir the batter enough to moisten dry ingredients and stir out lumps. Spread batter into prepared pan.
Baking Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350* degrees F (175* degrees C).
- Grease and flour an 8 inch square pan.
- Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes.
- A toothpick or clean knife stuck in the middle of the Flaxseed Brownies should come out clean when they are done.
*A little brownie left on the knife or toothpick will be fine, but too much and it is uncooked dough.
-Sometimes you can put a knife in at the beginning so you know how much difference there is how much dough is sticking to the knife!
- Do not over bake or they will be dry.
Flaxeed Brownies Frosting:
Mix Together in a Mixing Bowel:
- 3 tablespoons butter, softened
- 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar (We use less sugar - 1/2 to 2/3 cup)
To Make Frosting:
Combine butter, cocoa, honey, vanilla, and confectioners' sugar.
Once the Flaxseed Brownies are done:
Frost brownies while they are still warm.
Eat and enjoy! Hide them away if you need to... otherwise if your house is anything like ours, they won't last long!
Makes about 16 Brownies -depending on how big you cut them! :)
